On Saturday 12 September 2026 at 9 pm, the Basilica of Superga will host a choral concert bringing together two musical ensembles from different territories and traditions: Coro Europa Cantat di Reano and Cor de Rupià.
The concert will be an opportunity to experience the universal language of choral music through a programme that combines traditional songs, contemporary compositions and pieces inspired by spirituality, peace and dialogue between peoples.
Coro Europa Cantat di Reano takes its name from the international Europa Cantat festival, an experience that its director took part in during the 1970s as a member of the Corale Universitaria di Torino. When he later founded his own choir, he chose to preserve the memory of that important musical experience in the name of the new ensemble.
During the evening, the choir will perform a selection of works from different cultures, including traditional songs and choral compositions dedicated to themes of solidarity and human connection.
The Cor de Rupià, a Catalan choir, will also perform, bringing to Superga a repertoire connected with Catalan musical traditions, including popular songs and contemporary choral works.
The two choirs will join together for some shared performances, creating a final moment of encounter and harmony through music.
On the occasion of the concert, the Basilica will exceptionally remain open until midnight. Entrance to the church and the Chapel of the Vow will be free. The museum areas inside the Basilica will also be accessible with a ticket, and visitors will have the opportunity to reach the external balcony of the Dome to enjoy the extraordinary night view over Turin and the Alps.
A special evening service of the historic Sassi–Superga Tramway will also be available:
- last ascent from Sassi: 11.00 pm
- last descent from Superga: 11.30 pm
