The titular feast of the Basilica of Superga
September is a particularly significant month for the Basilica of Superga. It is the month in which the Basilica celebrates its titular feast, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, observed in the liturgical calendar on 8 September. This celebration brings together faith, history and art in one of the most iconic places on the hills of Turin.
At Superga, the main celebration of the feast will take place on Sunday 13 September, when the community will gather for Solemn Mass in a particularly meaningful occasion strengthened by the twinning with the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin.
The celebration on 13 September
The central moment of the feast will be the Solemn Mass on Sunday 13 September at 11 am, celebrated as part of the twinning between the Basilica of Superga and the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin.
The Mass will be presided over by Father Michele Viviano, Rector of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, and accompanied by the Choir of Mary Help of Christians, whose music will contribute to the solemnity of the celebration.
The occasion renews the bond between two places that hold a special place in Turin's history and in its Marian tradition.
