From April 3rd, 2026, the historic Sassi – Superga rack tramway is back in operation.
The line provides a convenient connection from Sassi station to the Basilica of Superga, along a scenic route offering panoramic views over the city of Turin and the Alps.
Runs operate hourly: uphill departures from 10:00 to 18:00 and downhill from 10:30 to 18:30.
Unique of its kind in Italy, the tramway is one of the most distinctive ways to reach the hill and visit the Basilica complex.
The service does not operate on Wednesdays: on that day, line 79/ is available as a replacement service.
